The development provides 65 number 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for residents with central communal facilities with a dementia focus with design and layout reflecting the principles set out in the HAPPI report.

A number of apartments have been identified and allocated as dementia ready and these rooms will be fit out accordingly in line with recommendations from consultants for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The building will provide communal spaces to the ground floor with a café and catering kitchen. A private garden area to the 4th floor with apartments looking into the site. Landscaping around the site sits the building in the land with raised terraces areas stepping with the building and existing topography with views across, into and out of the site. The stone and brick façade echo’s the local vernacular material expressing these an a modern building form.

Daylighting down into the central core of the building is provided by atrium. The building mass has been developed in response to its relationship with the neighbouring buildings, and the cityscape beyond.

At 4th floor a semi private courtyard garden with raised planters will provide a safe area easily accessible for residents to enjoy.
