Raithwaite Hall is the first 5 star hotel on the North Yorkshire coast. A boutique 45 bed hotel set in 85 acres of wooded valleys opening onto the coast north of Whitby and within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, The hotel offers a luxurious break destination with sports and spa facilities and a large event room set into the steep sides of the valley.
Based around a Georgian and Victorian era country House, the hotel offers terraced views of the landscape in all directions; pushing the bulk of the new building into the hillside and stepping the landscaped gardens into and over the building by the extensive use of grass roofs and terraces to highlight the unsullied nature of the valley.
The building is powered by biomass boilers using coppiced wood from within the local National Park.
